I’m back after about a week…
Over the past few weeks I have been glued to my computer working on everything from papers to mommy blog list in excel. Yes, mommy blogs. A project I was given for my internship was to complete a list that included about 200 mommy blogs. I needed to check the worth of each site and the number of followers so that we have another way to segment this list, aside from page hits and location.
For me mommy blogs are a new breed. From seeing over 200 of them within the past two weeks, I have grown accustomed to them and the service they provide. Although, many of them were food related I was still able to see other topics the ‘blogmothers’ were addressing and they all seemed very helpful.
As a person who would like to children of my own someday, I see these blogs to be very informative. No need for book upon book about raising children we now have blogs! Many of them cover a variety of topics, from organic foods to raising a child in a tough economy. Also, the mom blogs have also created a network among themselves.
This is a great opportunity for PR practitioners who represent a wide spectrum of products and services. There are blogs online that are PR friendly and also have followers that are usually of a certain demographic. With a central and easily obtainable community it makes reaching your target public easier.
As a side note Bean Appetit, a great childrens cooking book will be available Feb. 23 on Amazon.com! Please support Bean Sprouts Café by purchasing yours! (Link Below)
(While writing this, I have just completed my 200 mom blog list!) =]
Talk to you soon Beans!
