Facebook has released a new layout/interface for its millions of users. I got home today after class to find that my Facebook page was completely different. Of course, as most of us usually do when change happens, I freaked! I ran to my roommate Joe's room who was on Facebook at the time and told him about this change and in unison we said, "Here we go again."
Facebook has changed its layout a number of times since its beginning in 2003. Above are photos of some of the original layouts courtesy of wikipedia.
There are a few changes that have been made. The chat box is still in the same place and now there is a new "Friends Online" section to the left of the screen. Also added to the left side are your applications/games.
The notifications box that include friend request, messages, and regular notifications are all located on the top of the screen. Notifications use to be located on the bottom of the screen. I believe this is one of the biggest changes that have occurred is the change of notification; for many months we would always look down to see if we had received anything new now we must look up.
Considering the changes we have seen over the past few years, are we ready for another? With anything, you will have those who see change as the work of the devil, and those who feel it is much needed. No matter what side you are on, you must face the Facebook changes.
