DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY/ORGANIZATION (Attach other company literature/brochure to this fact sheet, if you like): Widefield School District 3 is a suburban school district located southeast of Colorado Springs. It encompasses 59 square miles and is the largest unincorporated area in the state. The district provides opportunities for students from preschool through graduation. It is also the only school district in the state that owns and operates a park-and-recreation district, as well as a public library. Widefield has 16 schools and educates approximately 8,500 students. It is proud of the fact that nearly 30 percent of its students come from military families.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE INTERN OPPORTUNITY: By providing an opportunity for a college student to learn in a professional setting, Widefield School District can assist in furthering the education of outstanding young people. I can be very flexible, but I would envision three hours per day, three to five days per week. Personal transportation is a must. I am looking for someone to assist me in daily communications/marketing duties, leaning heavily on updating a news blog, taking and manipulating photographs, website support, starting and maintaining social media pages, writing short news updates, assisting with marketing materials, and general public relations duties. A laptop computer will be provided.
SPECIFIC PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE INTERN: Most of these are stated above and would change as the school year and projects dictate.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS EXPECTED OF THE INTERN: Writing short news blog articles; general photography; computer photo editing; familiarity with Facebook, Twitter and web pages; promptness; self-starter; cheerful; ambitious; spirit of support; and someone who is not afraid to make suggestions/contributions.

If a student has an overall 3.0 grade point average, they can also apply for
gaining three credits and meeting a requirement for an organizational or
strategic communication major by contacting me.
However, the student would still have to pay the tuition for the three
credits.
