Position with AspenPointe Still Available!

AspenPointe is currently still accepting resumes/cover letters for their Spring internship opportunity. Internship Opportunity

AspenPointe needs a media/public relations intern to help its burgeoning marketing department promote wellness solutions that are attracting national attention. In recent years, our programs and services have been featured by the New York Times, TIME Magazine, National Public Radio, PBS NewsHour, MSNBC, the Associated Press and myriad regional and local media as well as trade publications. We’ve been to the White House, discussed on “The View” and called by producers for the Oprah Winfrey Show and MTV’s Real Life.

This internship requires about 9 hours of work per week and is unpaid but offers real and invaluable media/public relations experience. Most notably, you will be responsible for helping with the branding (through social as well as traditional media) of AspenPointe, the new name for 12 organizations that empower clients, enrich lives and embrace purpose.

Qualifications

  • Stated major in journalism, public relations or marketing.
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Ability to intern at least 9 hours per week.
  • Commitment to terms of internship. Punctuality. Dependability.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Media strategizing for events, news, features.
  • Press release, interview Q&A writing and editing.
  • Pitching story ideas to the media; handling press inquiries.
  • Writing and editing stories on clients and staff members for company web site.
  • Assisting in online files management.
  • Designing brochures and fliers for company services and events.
  • Photography and videography as well as video editing.

Length of Engagement

One semester (150 hours).

Reimbursement/Credit

Interns are responsible for ensuring internship qualifies toward class/degree credits. AspenPointe will provide a performance report to the school and other necessary paperwork as required.
